People says Career in upsc is uncertain and unsure. So how to remove this fear and get the sure success
First of all, you must have a solid reason to take this exam, as only that reason will keep you motivated during difficult times. It is not just another examination, mostly success comes after a lot of grilling and many failures, which can last for years and not just month. Thus, unless there is a deep burning desire in you to become civil servant, its difficult to push through.
When you decide to prepare for UPSC, you must have 2 facts in mind:
1. The success rate is very low, perhaps lowest among all academic selection processes.
2. There is no recognition, unless you crack it; so for that matter, someone failing to clear PT and someone failing to clear after interview stage are at same pedestal.
Once you know it in the beginning and accept the challenge, there is no additional fear. Thus, the first step is the most difficult step, if you take it consciously. After that, you are on a quest.
The biggest challenge that serious and talented students face during preparation, is lack of consistency in their studies, i.e. studying 10 hours for 10 days and then wasting 5 days endlessly, which increases the uncertainty factor.
Also, try not to listen every topper and every senior, as that can seriously derail you from what is best way of studying for you, which only one person knows, the candidate himself/herself.
If, you are talented, focussed and consistent, then the odds of failure goes down considerably.
